Survivors often tell us counselling helps them:
Counselling doesn’t erase what happened - but it can help you feel less alone with it, and more able to live the life you want. Reach out when you’re ready.
Northamptonshire Rape Crisis offer:
Our counselling takes place in a calm, welcoming women‑only environment, created so women survivors can feel safe, grounded and protected.
Many women tell us that having a space away from men helps them relax, feel less on edge, and begin to rebuild trust at their own pace.
Every counsellor at NRC is a trained, specialist female therapist.
Survivors tell us this helps them feel safer, more able to talk openly, and more supported in processing trauma that often involves gendered power and harm.
Sexual violence affects people of all genders and identities. We provide specialist counselling for LGBTQ+ survivors, men and boys, and survivors of all genders. Every survivor is met with dignity, respect and trauma‑informed care.
You’ll be matched with a counsellor based on your needs and experiences, and offered weekly sessions at the same time each week to support stability and routine.
All our services are completely free.
